In the first game Ryley can pilot a cyclops despite it supposedly needing a three man crew? (What do the other two guys even do? all the piloting is only accessible to the pilot, and you really shouldnt be getting leaks or fires enough to need two guys fixing it) It feels like it could have been so much better if it was say, another ion cube constructor, but it makes a lot of noise and gives you little safety against the iceworms, that would actually encourage using the snowfox there (if it was better against worms that is) Yeah, putting ion cube nodes there was just. It's such a crazy design decision that totally undermines the SnowFox in the one area where it should be most useful. Anyone opting for the SnowFox missed out on that reward. Perhaps it could even be used as a defensive item to keep away some of the hostile fauna too. A portable drill actually expands the game nicely and makes inventory decisions more interesting. Put it in the Koppa mining site where the Prawn jump upgrade is. I think a better option would have been ditching the Prawn completely and adding in a hand-drill item that you could use instead to collect ore from the large nodes. Gameplay-wise, it's totally unnecessary and so over-powered that it makes some of the newer tech that this game wants to highlight seem redundant. It made sense in the first game that Ryley could pilot one being that he was a tech, but it's industrial piece of machinery that a scientist like Robin shouldn't really know how to use. IMO, the Prawn shouldn't have been in this game at all. The game actually penalizes you for not taking the Prawn suit by including multiple drillable ion cube nodes in the Arctic Spires region.
